have been to vs have gone to

been? gone? 빈곤?

오늘은 been 과 gone의 차이에 대해 알아 봅시다.

중,고등학생이라면 현재완료를 공부하시면서 접해보셨을텐데요..

I have been to Paris는 되지만 I have gone to Paris는 안 된다나 뭐래나 그렇죠?

 

 

*Been is used as the past participle of go when somebody has travelled to a place and has returned. (어딘가로 떠났다가 돌아옴-다녀왔다. 가봤다.)

 

Gone means that somebody has travelled to a place but has not yet returned(마찬가지로 떠났지만 아직 돌아오지 않음-가고 여기 없다.):

 

I've just been to Berlin. I got back this morning. (베를린에 갔다가 오늘 아침 돌아왔어)

John's gone to Peru. He'll be back in two weeks. (존은 페루에 갔어. 2주 뒤에 올 거야.) 

 

 

차이를 아시겠죠?

 

 

Been is used as the past participle of both be and go(been은 be와 go의 과거분사로 쓰인다-어렵게 생각하지 마시고 그냥 go의 의미를 가진다라고만 생각하세요.):

 

I've never been seriously ill. (한 번도 심하게 아파본 적이 없다.)

I've never been to Lisbon. (리스본에 한 번도 가본 적이 없다.)

 

Gone is also a past participle of go. (gone은 go의 과거 분사로 쓰인다.)

Note the difference in meaning:

 

I'm cold because I've just been outside.  (= I'm here now).

                         여태껏 밖에 있었지만 지금은 안에 있음.

Jim's not here, I'm afraid – he's just gone out  (= he's not here now).

                                                     막 밖에 나갔음. 지금 여기 없음.
